Understanding our country is currently experiencing an energy crisis, Australian residents are eager to learn better, more efficient ways to control and manage their household power usage.
The ever rising costs of energy has pushed Australians to be more aware of how they use their energy at home, with a new study revealing that homeowners want more than a simple data study comparing the energy usage of different households.
Research conducted by Energy Australia detail that many Australians are feeling ‘powerless when engaging with energy companies,’ but it also shows that the consumer’s behaviour and patience with energy companies is changing.
Consumers want their energy providers to do more for them
With sources for information being such an easily accessible commodity these days, it doesn’t make sense for the controlling energy providers to refrain from detailing what Australian households can do to reduce their energy usage, and in turn, their power bills.

In the survey, 85% want energy providers to recommend ways to reduce costs through the way they use their energy, while around 70% of the participants explained that they wanted to see the energy companies providing more specific information so better understand the best ways to control their household energy usage. What was interesting is that a lot of the respondents who decided against needing to know more (the 30% against the idea) were simply non reliant on the energy. Making the decision to switch to solar energy as their home’s main energy source, it has not only cut their energy bills to a tiny amount, but it’s removed the stresses associated with the rising costs of electricity.
