Competing against respected industry professionals across Western
Australia, AICA Engineering has taken home the coveted award of the
Energy Efficiency Project of the Year for displaying engineering
excellence in achieving project outcomes for the client. AICA’s highly
acclaimed and innovative energy project helped a local commercial farm
become self-sustainable by converting an existing grid-connected solar
system to a state-of-the-art hybrid energy system using off the shelf
products of multiple brands and developing a design to integrate all
components inclusive of storage banks to work in parallel and being
controlled centrally, which acted as the master.
The project in Western Australia's township of Bullsbrook is considered as an Australian-first, where AICA successfully designed and developed the integrated system to support a 58.8kWh Total Battery Energy Storage, ensuring the massive local farming company will sustainably operate for years to come and is on its way to becoming 100% self sustainable.
With a panel of industry renowned judges, AICA were praised for their unparallelled innovation in sustainable energy creation. What impressed the judges most was AICA's determination to succeed when they were faced with a myriad of never before seen challenges in a project considered to being a first of its kind. But this is not the end, having won the award in a WA State level the entry automatically progresses into the Master Electricians National Award submission where it competes with Energy Efficiency projects done throughout Australia.
believe this project is a first of its kind in Australia where the
engineering team has thought out of the box to provide a hybrid solution
engineering the design to integrate off the shelf products which
achieve the peak of energy efficiency for the premise but also worked it
in a financially viable budget for the client. We believe this project
also stands a good chance in winning the national title and we hope to
